Andriod Vs Apple Fight Continues - Q4 2012


After long fight with Android Apple top’s U.S. Smartphone’s Market with 53.3%.

Apple has successfully secured more than 50 percent of Smartphone’s market share in U.S. but Samsung again dominates over Europe.
Research firm Kantar World panel ComTech says that Apple grabs market share from android, apple accounts for 53.3% of U.S. Smartphone’s sales for the 12-week period ending in November 25.
As per research report Android market share drops from 52.8 % to 41.9%, while Microsoft has gained little from 2.1% to 2.7. Research in Motions seems like struggling in U.S. market it fells from 7% to 1.4. If we talk about network market share than AT&T holds first position with 35.4%, while Verizon Wireless at 31.9% and Sprint with 14.5%.
Kantar says that this is mainly due to the release of the iPhone 5, which helped boost sales in the United States.
Dominic Sunnebo, global consumer insight director at Kantar World panel ComTech, commented:
"Apple has reached a major milestone in the U.S. by passing the 50 percent share mark for the first time, with further gains expected to be made during December."
Among iPhone buyers in November, 27% upgraded from another Smartphone OS, 34% upgraded from a previous iPhone and 40% upgraded to their first Smartphone.
